In a world where authenticity is becoming ever harder to find, there are people who become guardians of heritage – not out of duty, but from a deep, inner calling.
Chanaphat Ubonvirattana, the founder and caretaker of PP Thai Cattery in Thailand, is one of these rare individuals. A man with the heart of a cat – quiet, watchful, and full of majesty – who carries the legacy of his country into the world with great love, honoring Thai breeds as one would the most precious national treasure.
His cattery is not merely a place where magnificent animals are born. It is a living sanctuary of history and tradition, where each breed – from the royal Khao Manee to the mystical Suphalak – is cared for with reverence, as if it were a jewel in the royal crown of Siam.
Every cat leaving the gates of PP Thai Cattery carries within it an echo of ancient tales recorded in the samut khoi – traditional manuscripts that for centuries have preserved the descriptions and symbolism of these extraordinary creatures. Among the many feline personalities who inhabit his cattery, a special place belongs to Tri-Ned – a Khao Manee whose eyes are a legend unto themselves. One green, the other shimmering with blue and copper – Tri-Ned’s gaze is like a gateway to two worlds: the earthly and the spiritual. It is no wonder that this cat has caught the attention of the media and enchanted rare-breed enthusiasts around the globe. Chanaphat is guided not only by passion – he has, in a way, become part of the feline world himself.
His gestures, the way he looks, the way he speaks of each cat reveal a deep bond that goes beyond the human–animal relationship. In his eyes, every Khao Manee, Korat, or Konja is an ambassador of Thai culture, a being that deserves a life of harmony, respect, and admiration. His dreams reach beyond the present. He has undertaken an almost impossible mission – to restore the rare, nearly forgotten Wilas breed. According to ancient descriptions, this is a black cat with a white line running from nose to tail and white paws. Today, only eight such cats remain in the world, six of them no longer able to reproduce. For Chanaphat, the Wilas is not an exotic curiosity – it is a piece of his country’s history that must be saved, like a priceless work of art.
PP Thai Cattery impresses not only with its great heart, but also with the renown it has earned in international rings.
Numerous titles, such as Best of Best Thai Cat and awards for the most beautiful cats in rare colors and breeds, are merely confirmation of what can be felt from the very first moment in this place – that here, the love for cats is as pure and unconditional as a cat’s love for its home.
One cannot overlook another immensely important figure – Chanaphat’s mother, who works alongside him to create this exceptional place. Her warmth, wisdom, and caring presence give PP Thai Cattery the atmosphere of a true home. Standing by her son’s side, she adds a touch of family tenderness to each day, making the cats feel loved from their very first moments of life. Together, they form a duo where tradition and modernity are woven into a harmonious whole, making the cattery a place full of heart and beauty.
Thanks to Chan, Thai cats – pearls among breeds – find their way into the hearts of people all over the world: from France to Japan, Korea, Mexico, and Taiwan. Each of them, leaving Thailand, takes with it not only its beauty but also a piece of the soul of the man who believes that true heritage must be nurtured with tenderness and pride. For Chanaphat Ubonvirattana is not merely a breeder. He is an artist in the world of nature. A guardian of treasures.
And a man who listens to the heart of the cat. We are eternally grateful to him for entrusting us with three Thai diamonds ![]()
